2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
With a focus on holding on to the number 1 position in the expanding global hybrid car market, Toyota has designed the luxury SUV 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. That means that out of Toyota’s 13 vehicles from the 2016 model year, 7 models are hybrids. That is more than 50 percent, and maybe that’s a hint that Toyota is taking a turn with its lineup, in the hybrid direction. The coming of the new RAV4 Hybrid presents a jump in the untouched market for a compact hybrid crossover. The RAV4 is already an efficient vehicle, but with Toyota’s proven hybrid technology added into the equation, the new RAV4 Hybrid comes with an even bigger advantage.
Engine, 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid 0-60
Under the skin, the compact crossover will have a combination of a petrol engine and a trio of electric motors. The petrol engine that will be used is a 2.5 l inline-4, that will be capable of pumping out around 170 hp. It will be paired up with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. All new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid models will have as standard the Toyota’s Electronic On-Demand all wheel drive System with intelligence.
This particular system is equipped with three electric motors: one to start the engine as well as charge the battery, another to give the power to the front wheels and also be used for braking regeneration, and the third, on all wheel drive models, to power the rear wheels. The estimated total power output of the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid 2016 should be around 200 hp. From 0-60 mph time it goes for 8.3 seconds, with top speed of 125 mph. Fuel consumption is 33/30 mpg city/highway.
Preview of 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Exterior
Unlike the most entry-level hybrid vehicles, the 2016 RAV4 Hybrid exterior will actually come with a much better appearance than the current standard RAV4, thanks to a slightly futuristic front-end design that has been inspired by the 2016 Toyota Mirai fuel-cell car. The front fascia of the RAV4 Hybrid will be fitted with smaller, redesigned headlights and a sharper style. The most notable change at the back end of the RAV4 Hybrid are the clear-lensed backlights. The rest of the changes that were made are based on the Toyota’s signature blue highlight on the corporate logos and a new available 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid color options, such as the Blizzard Pearl, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Black Sand Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic, Super White, and the company called BLUE. Wheels are 17-inch alloy.
Interior of 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
When taking a look at the 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid interior, you will see that it comes with a new gauge cluster, but the most important issue is how did the Toyota manage to fit all the hybrid components, and how did that affect the RAV4’s passenger comfort and the cargo ability. We know for a fact, that the current RAV4 already came with a spacious rear seat and huge amounts of cargo space, so that means that there is a little free room to set the battery pack and the rest of the hybrid components, without reducing that amount of space. The solution for that issue is yet to be seen.
2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Price
The luxury SUV Toyota RAV4 Hybrid 2016 will be available in the XLE and Limited trim levels, and for the current RAV4 non hybrid models the price starts at $26000 and $29,500. The introduction of the hybrid system will definitely raise the price higher, giving the model an estimated starting price of around $33000. 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid release date will be in the Fall of 2015 as a 2016 model.
