2015 Toyota Hilux Price Review and Release date

Toyota still hasn’t disclosed info about next-gen Hilux, but the farther we go in 2014, the more it seems that 2015 Toyota Hilux model will be an eight generation model. However, this transition could last for a little bit longer and new Hilux might come to the dealers in first, or even second quartal of next year.

2015 Toyota Hilux – Engine

2015 Toyota Hilux engine options will most likely be carried over, at least for now. This means that new Hilux will yet again come with many options to choose from, but most notable engines would be 2.5L and 3.0L 4-cylinder diesels. And a rarity in European and Asian markets, 4.0L gasoline V6. Transmission should remain 5-speed manual, but the time has come to throw away 4-speed automatic of olden times and introduce new 6-speed gearbox.

From the spy-shots we have seen so far, new Hilux will get more robust and more angular look. Front end will get similar, but still new stripe chrome grille with bigger headlights and trapezoid lower air intake. Hood itself, just like the rest of the body seems to be broader and stand out from compact proportions of Hilux’s past.

Fuel economy ratings are quite good on diesel models which have them between 27 mpg and 32 mpg combined. Petrol V6 uses much more fuel which lowers the ratings considerably. New 6-speed automatic transmission could improve these numbers, but Toyota first has to make it available.

New Toyota Hilux interior isn’t going to be changed much, but will most certainly be refurbished and recolored. Depending on a cabin you choose (Single Cab, Extended Cab or Crew Cab), you’ll have the corresponding amount of interior space. Dashboard will probably go through some changes, but will keep its shape in general. 6.1-inch LCD display which is coupled with Toyota Touch 2 infotainment system is going to remain one of the most advanced options inside.
